Character Rise | Brussels

Based on the unique materials given to each of our bodies, the purpose is to maximise our own strengths under the theatrical vocabulary and derive new bodies and energy through improvisation and research.  We develop into a twisted and threshed form, awakening the standardised body through the process of collection, condensation, control, organisation, expansion, and explosion, and exploring the point of dissolution as body language by borrowing the collision of the ego from unconsciousness to nirvana.

This class will also approach the basis of the work of Peeping Tom from Hun-Mok‘s personal experience with the company. Profoundly influenced by Gigong, the energy which passes through the human body. We will try to find personal movement material and get away from the purely technical aspect of dancing. We will trip the body’s restrictions and struggle through theatrical states in order to allow ourselves to reach a personal, extreme energy.

How to register ?

Participation in the workshop costs €225. Registrations are possible until 01/04/24. Please send us your CV and a video via info@peepingtom.be. 

Selected candidates will be informed on 08/04/24.

Practical information:

– Workshop from Monday April 22, 2024 to Wednesday April 24, 2024, each time from 10 a.m. to 17 p.m. (with a one-hour lunch break).

– Please bring comfortable clothing, a towel, knee pads, a refillable water bottle, a snack and lunch.

– Unfortunately, Peeping Tom cannot assist with accommodation and is not responsible for additional travel or accommodation costs for workshop participants. 

– The workshop will be given in English
