Communications Manager
Peeping Tom is looking for a new communications and PR manager
Peeping Tom creates, produces, and presents ambitious and unique dance theater productions by Gabriela Carrizo and Franck Chartier. The dance company receives structural funding from the Flemish Community.
The Peeping Tom Studio in Brussels is the beating heart of our operations. This is where our offices are located, where we work on new creations in the studio, and where we welcome artists from Belgium and abroad for workshops, rehearsals, or other activities. From this home base, we also prepare for the worldwide tours through which we have built a loyal international audience.
Behind this operation is a dedicated management team of six permanent employees and a large network of artists and freelancers. We work closely with each other and the artistic direction. To strengthen this team, Peeping Tom is looking for a PR and Communications Manager.

job description:
The PR and Communications Manager is responsible for the organization's internal and external communications, which includes establishing and maintaining public relations and developing a marketing strategy. They develop content in dialogue with the artistic directors and collaborate with the business management on strategy and development. More specifically, this means:
- You are responsible for the internal and external communication strategy for various target groups (theaters, spectators, sponsors, press, etc.).
- You analyze the organization's communication needs and come up with new ideas that fit the company's character.
- You'll create content for our website, newsletter, press releases, and social media. To achieve this, you'll manage and develop a network of photographers, videographers, and more.
- You work on the continuous content enrichment and updating of the various communication lines and media (documentation/website/social media).
- You maintain press relations and schedule interviews.
- You will be responsible for editing and proofreading files (evening programs, action plans, press kits, reports, grant applications, sponsorship files, etc.).
- You take care of the organization's public relations and develop creative campaigns for it.
- You manage the info@peepingtom mailbox.
- You are responsible for the policy and implementation of merchandising.
- You are responsible for the archiving policy and monitor it (in collaboration with student workers).
- You will contribute to the organization of events and activities related to public outreach (workshops, studio events, etc.).
- Where necessary, you'll assist your colleagues with the practical organization of the company's rehearsals and performances. This will primarily be done from the office.
- You are willing to go on tour.
- You independently manage the annual budget allocated for communications
We are looking for the following profile:
Your skills:
- You have at least 5 years of experience with communications (strategic and executive) within non-profit organizations.
- You are organized and have a sense of initiative and responsibility.
- You have good editorial skills.
- You are an expert in various aspects of communication: print, social media, digital media, etc.
- You have (basic) knowledge of editing and video production.
- You have knowledge of and/or a keen interest in the performing arts.
Your profile
- You are creative and innovative, and can use this meaningfully in your work.
- You are efficient in both office work and event organization.
- You enjoy rolling up your sleeves and helping out with studio-related activities such as workshops, auditions, showings, etc.
- You can work independently and proactively, you feel comfortable within a horizontal structure and deadlines do not scare you;
- You are a smooth networker with an open attitude.
- You have exceptional language skills, both spoken and written (with Dutch as your native language and a very good command of English and French. Other languages are a plus).
